Human life in America is suffering from wanton abuse, injury, and death perpetrated by a person that has a relationship to their respective victim(s).  The physical and emotional pain is severely amplified to those people directly and indirectly affected by such domestic acts of viciousness.

Too often in our American society violence and the correlated abuse occurring in a domestic setting, such as in a marriage or cohabitation is being carried out as tolerable behavior.  Hostile conduct is being universally accepted as a societal norm, thereby establishing safety nets for the violators to legally disown their despicable deeds.

Domestic includes religious, educational, workplace, entertainment as well as living environments.  People should not limit domestic to an intimate relationship against spouses or partners level, as in doing so the wrongdoer’s mindset is reinforced that they have a domain of ownership in carryout their acts of manipulation.

An immoral mind operates abusively as the person believes that they are entitled to commit acts of interpersonal violence in a relationship to establish and maintain relationships based on power and control over their predetermined victim(s).  Shamefully, the larger society is also a victim to anywhere that domestic violence takes place, since we are all here to be a savior for humanity.

Tribal societies are those that save others from danger or destruction and is therefore a savior for humanity.  Tribes are united by the kinship life and serve a purpose beholding the master creator of life.  The modern English word tribe stems from Middle English tribu, which is considered a compound word to tri or trinity, and bu, which means ‘to be’.

Tribe of Purpose is an established organization working to offer greater comfort those living victims (direct and indirect) of domestic violence, and to build better communication to those convicted perpetrators and predictable violator of domestic violence.  This is a societal tribe of purpose, spawn by Kenia Buckner, a 31-year-old black woman, being a domestic violence victim, where in her home on January 16, 2017 at 1:35 PM, she was shot with a gun and killed by her ex-boyfriend, all taking place in the presence of the innocent victim’s mother, mutual children, family and friends.

Kenia Buckner, a 31-year-old black woman, was shot and killed Monday, Jan. 16, in the 16200 block of Cornuta Avenue in Bellflower, according to Los Angeles County authorities.

Buckner was home with her three children around 1:35 p.m. when her ex-boyfriend, the children’s father, walked into her apartment, said sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza.

“In front of their children, in their living room, he pulls out a gun and fires toward the victim multiple times, striking her at least one time in upper torso,” Mendoza said.

Buckner was pronounced dead in her living room at 1:48 p.m., Mendoza said.

Investigators are searching for the ex-boyfriend, identified as Antowan Parker, a 27-year-old black man, who was last seen running south on Cornuta after the shooting, Mendoza said.

No one else was injured, Mendoza said.  Neighbors and family told KTLA-TV that the children, the oldest of whom is 7, ran into the street after the shooting.

“I heard gunshots, like just a boom while I was taking out the trash, and then I heard kids screaming,” a neighbor said.

Friends told KTLA that Buckner worked as a hair stylist while attending college to become a nurse. “She’d go to work; she’d go to school; she’d take care of the kids,” said Melanie Gammage, crying as she remembered her friend.

A 27-year-old Bellflower man accused of killing his former girlfriend was arrested April 14, three months after the shooting, and pleaded not guilty to her murder on May 1.

Kenia Buckner was a 31-year-old nursing student who supported her three children as a hairstylist.  She was shot in her apartment in the 16200 block of Cornuta Avenue in Bellflower around 1:35 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16.

Authorities said Buckner’s estranged boyfriend, Antowan Ladell Parker Jr., barged into Buckner’s living room and shot her multiple times in front of her mother, the couple’s 10-year-old daughter and other family members.

Parker pointed his gun at several of Buckner’s family members before shooting her, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said.

Parker fled after the shooting, and a warrant charging him with murder was issued on Jan. 19, according to a news release.

On March 21, the mayor of Bellflower offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to Parker’s arrest, and Buckner’s mother, Debbie, begged Parker’s family and friends to turn him in.

Investigators found Parker in Downey on April 14.  He was arrested without incident while sitting in a vehicle, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza said.

Parker pleaded not guilty to one count of murder and two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, according to the district attorney’s office.

Parker is being held in jail in lieu of $4.15 million bail, according to jail records.  He is scheduled to return to court June 5 to schedule a preliminary hearing.
