Injury may be caused by physically beating up the woman or by emotionally abusing her. Emotional abuse of the woman includes verbal, sexual and economic abuse.

In the United States, as many as one in four women and one in nine men are victims of domestic violence. Domestic violence is thought to be underreported, where it is affecting not only the direct victims, such violence affects all family members, co-workers, and the community at-large.

One way that domestic violence affects society, is how it has been shown that domestic violence victims has much higher than normal tendency to create physical problems in people like ulcers and heart problems, mental problems like depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). A growing concern is that there are social problems with relationships that are experiencing sexual, physical, and/or emotional abuse. Symptoms can include hostility, social and emotional isolation, flashbacks, anxiety, insomnia, and self-destructive behavior.

In addition to the immediate trauma caused by abuse, domestic violence also contributes to a number of chronic health problems including depression and substance abuse, which can lead to a woman’s inability to manage other chronic illnesses.

Domestic violence is set apart by one partner’s behavior pattern used to gain or maintain control and power over another partner. Likewise, any incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening behavior, violence or abuse between those who are, or have been, intimate partners or family members regardless of gender or sexuality.

Domestic violence affects one’s thoughts, feelings and behaviors and can significantly impact one’s mental stability. Increased anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and depression symptoms are commonly observed among survivors of domestic violence. Abusers tend to use these behavioral tactics to keep or control their partner in the relationship. Usually, abusive behavior starts subtly and gradually and can become continuous over time. It has serious consequences on women’s mental and physical health, including their reproductive and sexual health. These include injuries, gynecological problems, temporary or permanent disabilities, depression and suicide, amongst others.

TRIBE of PURPOSE The Tribe of Purpose Organization was founded and established from the unfortunate…

[1

post-14","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized","wpcat-1-id
["GET
